Fly to Istanbul

In Japan, There is a song called “Fly to Istanbul”. When I looked it up, I found that it was a hit song by Mayo Shono in 1978. It was 44 years ago.

I don’t think many people know it, but I’ve heard the line “Fly to Istanbul” somewhere before. Maybe if you are Japanese and more than 40years old.

There is no connection whatsoever, but I literally flew from Catania in Sicily to Istanbul by plane.

From Catania

I used to stick to human power, but in recent years I’ve been flying a lot. However, as you can see, I am not flying in the direction of travel, I am flying back to the point where I have been.

Before I flew to Istanbul I was in Catania , Italy , Catania is located in south Italy in Sicily Island.

Catania is the second largest city in Sicily, and has an international airport with a relatively high number of international flights for a southern Italian city.

From here I will fly to Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey.

Why Istanbul

It’s a long story, but the new corona virus is still raging around the world, and in some countries you need to have a negative PCR test 72 hours before crossing the border, or you need to be quarantined when you arrive in the country.

This also narrows down the number of countries you can travel to.

In Turkey, I was allowed to enter as long as we had been vaccinated.

Also, I had been to Istanbul for New Year’s Eve last year, so I knew the city well.

Fly to Istanbul

　So I decided to go Istanbul, I left my bicycle fried house in Italy.

　The city is also known as the link between Asia and Europe because of the Bosphorus strait, which divides the continent into Asia in the east and Europe in the west.
