As soon as my Cambodian visa was successfully obtained, I started to travel south through Vietnam.
The national highway connecting Hanoi, the capital, and Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city, is Line 1.
It’s like the national highway that connects Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, and if you just keep going south on line 1, you will reach Ho Chi Minh.
The further you get from the center of Hanoi, the fewer motorbikes there are on the road and the more rural the landscape becomes.
During the day I wore towels and hats on myr heads and rested in the shade as often as possible. In the mornings and evenings, the air was chilly and fresh, and I started running every morning at 5 or 6 am.
