Before I left from Bankgkok
I went to Kitbut’s office to say goodbye.
He was in the office and he looked at my bicycle and said,
“Why don’t you change your ‘bicycle-like vehicle’ for a bicycle?”
He continued, “You can’t even get to China on that thing”
He continued.
Indeed, the back, pedals, handlebars and brakes were broken front and rear and not working at all.
Mr. Kit Butt said.
“I’ll give you half the money”
I was grateful for his offer.
I bought a 24 inch simple bike without gears at a nearby home centre. The price was 4,500 Japanese Yen(about40$)
I rode the bike back to the office, I didn’t know how wonderful it was that the brakes worked.
I said to Mr. Kit Butt,
“Thank you, I’ll try to go as far as I can with this,” and left the office.
I said “Sawadikap” (thank you)”
over and over again, and we were off.
With a new bike and a new bag, I was ready to go to Laos.
New bicycle and became getting used to traveling in China
